Contrary to popular belief, humpback whales are deeply antisocial animals; they only travel in pods for safety and convenience, but they spend most of their travel time resenting those around them.
Pictured: the only known pair of Siamese Beluga whales, joined at the flank. The darker beluga is named Humphrey, and his brother is named Sam. They’re really pretty dull once you get past the whole conjoined twins thing.

Spurred by the incredibly high demand for real estate in New York City, many young artists are increasingly moving into underwater studio apartments in the Hudson River. Called Submerged Apartments, or “subs,” these properties are exclusively owned and run by whales. The female illustrator pictured above has an MFA in General Studies from Vassar and she is a neo-vegan, which means she eats only foods that are specifically non-vegan.

Pilot whales are always born in groups of 3, and each of the triplets plays a specific role. One will be groomed to be the protector, one will be a hunter, and one will be kind of a passive aggressive asshole who embarrasses the others in front of the rest of the pod.
